Burlington Police Department Explorer Post 4095
The goal of this Explorer Post shall be to provide as much information and experience in the field of law enforcement and related areas as is possible to the members in the hopes that better understanding and familiarization with the career of law enforcement will bring out the best potential in career minded members and serve to make better citizens of all members.
Our Purpose is to provide an opportunity for young adults in Burlington and surrounding areas to become knowledgeable in the work the law enforcement officer is expected to perform, to simulate interests in the career opportunities available in the law enforcement field and to provide opportunities for young adults to become involved in police, civic and recreational activities in association with law enforcement officers.
Aside from numerous fundraisers we do each year, we also strongly encourage our members to complete as many community service hours as possible through various ways such as our annual BPD Blood Drive, Our continuous collection of newspapers and pet supplies for the Animal Shelter, and frequently volunteering to play the role of “McGruff” the crime fighting dog at public events.
We like to keep our members very busy and also regularly schedule training for them to include traffic stop maneuvers, building searches, team work techniques, and crime scene processing.
Membership criteria are simple! Our post is open to all young men and women between the ages of 14-20 who are interested in Law Enforcement, maintain at least a c+ average in school and do not have a criminal record.
