EMS and Rescue Training

image001.jpg In addition to fire training, members of the Department also practice emergency medicine and rescue techniques.   All firefighters hold certification as North Carolina Emergency Medical Technicians.  This is an advanced life-support certification and requires a minimum of thirty hours of training and testing each year.  The Training Division coordinates this training through the Continuing Education Division of Alamance Community College. The rescue training consists of vehicle extrication, confined-space rescue, water and rope rescue.
