    Dates: April 22, 23, 24, 25, 26 (closed April 19) Times: 7:30am - 6:00pm Ages: Elementary & Middle School Students Local schools will be out on Spring Break in April...so plan for your child to spend a FUN-day week with Burlington Recreation & Parks (BRPD) at Thataways Youth Center! Fundays features hands on activities, active play, and sometimes special guests too! Part-Time Afterschool Participants and Public can now pay online. If a child has not participated in a BRPD Afterschool or Funday this school year, a registration form will also be required.

  2. Basic Archery Instruction

    April 24, 2019, All Day @ Lake Mackintosh Park & Marina at the Clubhouse (temporary indoor archery range)

    Burlington Recreation & Parks invites youth to experience basic archery at the Lake Mackintosh Park & Marina’s Clubhouse. Participants will be taken through a lesson promoting safety and archery basics encouraging a focus on performing a proper shot: featuring an introduction to archery, safety on the range, using a string bow, and 11 steps of archery success through the NASP curriculum (http://naspschools.org/). Space is limited; all participants must pre-register and complete a registration form with liability waiver the day of the program.

  4. Archery Practice Session

    April 25, 2019, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Lake Mackintosh Park & Marina at the Clubhouse (temporary indoor archery range)

    Burlington Recreation & Parks invites youth ages 9 to 16 who have completed “Basic Archery Instruction for Youth” with Burlington Recreation & Parks, back to the range for more practice. Participants will review standard safety and range procedures then spend the majority of the time shooting and trying out fun archery games. Space is limited; all participants must pre-register and complete a registration form with liability waiver the day of the program. Archery equipment will be provided so please leave all personal archery equipment at home. Participants may bring a water bottle with their name on it and a healthy nut free snack. We ask everyone to wear comfortable clothing, tennis shoes, and secure hair out of the face.

  5. Hidden Science of Alamance County

    April 27, 2019, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM @ North Park

    Come explore the science of organizations working throughout our community. The Fire Department, Touch-a-Truck, Stormwater Smart, and many more will be presenting hands-on activities and exhibits! This event is hosted by North Park Library and The Mayco Bigelow Community Center at North Park in collaboration with the North Carolina Science Festival.
