  1. 4th Fridays Concert Series

    July 27, 2018, 4:30 PM - 9:00 PM @ Historic Depot

    4th Fridays are music centered community events held on the fourth Friday of each month (May-August) sponsored by B-Town Events. The event starts at 4:30pm with busker attractions leading up to the 7pm headlining band. The event presents an opportunity to gather with family, friends, and neighbors to eat, drink, and listen to music with our historic downtown depot as the backdrop. We have a variety of local Food Trucks and Beer/Wine vendors on-site every month! There are also activities for the kids to enjoy. The event is family oriented and fosters a fun environment for all age groups.

The property is located on the north side of Bonnar Bridge Parkway. • From I-3, Heavy Industrial District, to CI-Conditional Industrial District for additions to the Burlington Royals Baseball Stadium. Outdoor Recreation Calendar

  1. Get Hiking! at Shallow Ford Natural Area

    July 19, 2018, 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM @ Shallow Ford Natural Area

    Hike about 2.5 miles on various trails at Shallow Ford Natural Area. Expect natural surface trails, rolling terrain with a few steep hills and a moderate pace. Wear comfortable walking shoes (closed-toed) or boots. Bring a water bottle, bug spray & sunscreen. Hikes generally last about 1.5 hours. All ages welcome, but minors must be accompanied by an adult. Well-mannered dogs also welcome! The hike starts promptly at 6:00 pm. Plan to arrive about 10 minutes prior to start time. Meet in the parking area at the trail head signs.

  2. Sunset Paddle @ Guilford Mackintosh

    July 24, 2018, 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM @ Guilford Mackintosh Park and Marina

    Let your stress melt away as you enjoy a leisurely, 2-hour guided paddle. Paddlers will have a guide who provides basic paddling instruction as needed and leads the group on the lake. Fee includes kayak, paddle, PFD, lake fees and guide. For ages 13 and up. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Registration required. Register online at www.burlingtonnc.gov or call 336-222-5030.

  3. Paddle-Palooza Clinic for Youth

    July 27, 2018, 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM @ Guilford Mackintosh Park and Marina

    In this small-group, half-day clinic, youth learn all about kayaking with an ACA certified kayak instructor. Clinic covers everything from water safety, fitting your PFD, parts of the kayak, how to properly get in and out of the boat, basic paddle stokes and more. We'll save some time to paddle and explore the lake as well! Clinic includes on-land and on-water lessons. Campers should know how to swim and be prepared to be active throughout the clinic. For ages 11-15. Registration required.

    Movie Trivia Night with Burlington Recreation and Parks will consist of 4 different family-fun rounds of film trivia that will start at 7 p.m. Trivia categories can include actors, filming secrets, directors, and the Oscars. Winners will be awarded all night long for rounds and bonus questions. Concessions will be available for purchase.
