Sights and Sounds

The Burlington Carousel Festival brings you three stages of performing arts, local, regional and on Sunday September 21 national recording artist Phil Vassar. This festival fills the air with bluegrass, today's rock 'n roll, country, beach and so much more.  Come spend the day with us and experience the music you want to tap your toe to, stand up and swing your partner around to and call your friends and tell them they missed it because they weren't here.  Each stage has limited seating, therefore you are encouraged to bring your lawn chairs.  Come early and stay all day.  While you are here be sure to "share" your good times on facebook, twitter, instagram, etc.  #btownevents #carouselfest

The Burlington Carousel Festival is brought to you by the City of Burlington's Recreation & Parks Department.  The two day festival takes place at beautiful City Park home to the Dentzel Menagerie Carousel.  As the park is transformed into this one of a kind unique North Carolina Festival tents go up, the Carousel music takes you back in time and the aromas from the food court tantilize your taste buds. Walk along the festival path moving from the food court to artist alley where you will mingle in and out of over 50 booths where you buy hand crafted items. You experience first hand interactions with the artist learning more about their love for their craft and how your unique piece came to be.  After shopping let the kids make a craft with Alamance Arts being sure to bring them back at 3pm for the festival parade walk.  Continue through the festival to get in line to pick your animal to ride on the Carousel.  Here you will spin back in time touching your inner child.  The Carousel lends an experience where you can remember your first turn on a Carousel or it offers the first time rider the up close hands on ride of a life time where you want to come back again and again.  Every rider has a story and every story connects with a different animal, be ready to share your story and favorite animal.  As your ride comes to a stop the fun doesn't end.  You have the opportunity to get your face painted, feed a butterfly, see sandart, watch a live chainsaw woodcarving demonstration, and so much more!

You have to be at the festival to know just how vast the food options are. Jambalaya, cheeseburgers, crab cake sandwiches, Carolina Cuban, Polish sausage, gyros, kettle korn, smoothies, organic coffee, funnel cakes, Italian ice, homemade ice cream, pulled pork, shrimp poboys, an Arnold Palmer (iced tea & lemonade)...is your mouth watering?
