The Customer Service division collects all revenues from taxes, water and sewer utility billing and solid waste fees, street assessments, and vacant lot and demolition fees, parking fees and parking tickets payments and prepares all required notices.

*15% Debt Service Fee for Jordan Lake Wastewater Mandates and

Online bill payment; click on "Online Bill Pay" in the left side of the center bar of the homepage; a $1.99 transaction fee is applied to online payments only

Water turn-on/turn off
Property owners can establish service by calling 336-222-5100 or in person at the City of Burlington Municipal Building, 425 South Lexington Avenue, Burlington, NC between the hours of 8am-5pm, Monday – Friday.
Persons renting or leasing the property for which service is requested must pay a deposit in order to initiate service. Deposits are to be paid in the Utility Billing Office at the City of Burlington Municipal Building, 425 South Lexington Avenue.
For information concerning costs of water taps 1 1/2 inch or less in size or Sewer taps 4 inches in size contact Utility Billing at 336-222-5100.
For information on Water Taps larger than 1 1/2 inches or sewer taps larger than 4 inches contact Water & Sewer Pipe Maintenance at 336-222-5140.
Anyone operating a business within the City of Burlington should contact the City of Burlington Tax Department at 336-222-5120 to see what type of city business license is required before opening a business. Licenses are to be renewed each year during the month of June.

Payments for parking tickets may be made at the City of Burlington Collection Office at 425 South Lexington Avenue, Burlington NC during the hours of 8am to 5pm, Monday-Friday or by mail to the City of Burlington, P.O. Box 1358, Burlington, NC 27216-1358.
Questions concerning parking tickets should be directed to the City of Burlington Police Department at 336-222-3503.
Other Civil Penalties
Payments for Civil Penalties may be made at the City of Burlington Collections Office located at 425 South Lexington Avenue during the hours of 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday, or by mail to the City of Burlington, P.O. Box 1358, Burlington, NC 27216-1358.
Questions concerning Civil Penalties should be directed to the Department issuing the citation.
