Burlington Youth Council

Wide BYC (1)

The Burlington Youth Council (BYC) is a community service organization that meets the needs of the Alamance/Burlington middle and high school students. The BYC is the backbone of Thataways, in which they offer suggestions of programs and activities that are held there. This active group of teens volunteer for various events and assists with local programs in the Alamance County area as well as offering activities for themselves. The BYC strives to provide healthy and fun activities for young people around Alamance County.

To become a member of BYC, students must be enrolled in an Alamance County school and maintain satisfactory grades. Members must attend BYC meetings and events on a regular basis. For more information call (336) 222-5134, email, or register online.

  • Activity Books: Paper activity books created by the BYC were mailed by request. Books included activities such as word searches, crosswords, mazes, coloring sheets, recipes and more. As a special bonus, each member of the BYC incorporated something original into the book like a letter, poem, or piece of art.
