Community Centers
Community Centers offer a variety of programs and services for all ages throughout the city. Community Centers host classes, programs and activities, as well as provide various types of rental spaces suitable for family reunions, birthday parties, receptions, small gatherings and classes.
Elmira Community Center
Located at 810 Wicker Steet, Elmira offers a large meeting room for rent. Outside the Center, amenities include a basketball court, horseshoe pits, playground, soccer field & walking track. The Center hosts pottery classes through Alamance Community College, programs and events for adults 55+, and many other opportunities sponsored by Burlington Recreation & Parks. Fairchild Community Center
Fairchild is a 28,000 square foot facility situated within Fairchild Park located at 827 S. Graham Hopedale Road. The Center houses a 14,000 square foot gymnasium equipped with two full-size basketball courts and a multi-purpose room with a big-screen TV, kitchen and space for rentals. Forest Hill Community Center
Located at 227 Williams Street, this former school building offers indoor rooms for rent with access to a kitchen with a refrigerator and microwave. The grounds around the building feature a baseball field for Little League play and a playground. Learn more about Forest Hills Community Center.
John Robert Kernodle Senior Center
Located at 1535 S. Mebane Street, the Kernodle Senior Center offers a variety of activities for adults ages 55 and over including health and wellness, art and music, technology, trips, socials, educational seminars and more. The Center has meeting rooms and an extensive exercise facility. Rooms may be rented for small meetings or reunions. Learn more about the Kernodle Senior Center.
Mayco Bigelow Community Center
Located at North Park at 849 Sharpe Road, the Mayco Bigelow Community Center offers a large gymnasium, dance studio, meeting room, and a game room with video games, pool, air hockey and a large flat-screen TV. Thataways Youth Center
Thataways, located at 1331 Overbrook Road, offers youth an opportunity to become involved in the Burlington Youth Council, attend dances and other youth and teen programming.
