2018 Day Camps
Each Summer Day Camp offers a unique and individual camp experience to participants. Your child will enjoy exciting adventures outdoors, organized games, field trips, and tons more with a caring and responsible staff to lead the way!
Summer Day Camps operate June 11 - August 17, 2018. Camp hours are Monday - Friday from 7:30am – 5:30pm (7:00am – 5:30pm at Fairchild & Grove Park sites - tentative).Camps will be closed for the Independence Day holiday on Wednesday, July 4th, 2018.
Burlington Recreation & Parks Summer Day Camp Family Survey
Your assistance in helping us evaluate our programs is a tool we can use to enable us to improve and build upon the services we provide to you. If your child attended a 2018 Burlington Recreation & Parks Summer Day Camp, please complete the following survey based upon your family's camp experience. The survey will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. Survey will remain open through the month of September.
Registration begins Monday, March 5th, 2018!
Registration must be completed in person with payment at the Burlington Recreation & Parks Main Office (1333 Overbrook Road, Burlington, NC). There are no exceptions for the initial registration process being made in person.
Day Campers must pay at least one week to secure a space. If paying in full, the complete "10 Week" fee must be paid at time of registration & before June 8, 2018. Payments cannot be made towards the pay in full option. Space is limited.
Registration will remain open until the camp is full. Waiting list will be available once a camp is full. Accounts with outstanding balances will not be allowed to register a child.
WHAT TO BRING TO REGISTER
- Completed 2018 Summer Camp Registration Form (forms are also available at registration)
- Payment to secure a space for weekly or in full
- Required documentation:
- a copy of the child's birth certificate
- proof of address (driver's license or current utility bill)
Birth certificates are required to verify a child’s age.
To be eligible for Day Camps: 1) a child must have completed kindergarten AND 2) be 6 years old on or before August 31, 2018.
To be eligible for the Explorers for Teens Camp: 1) child must be a rising 7th grader AND 2) be 12 years old on or before August 31, 2018 and 3) no older than 14 on or before August 31, 2018.

Teens will participate in unique activities ranging from kayaking adventures to educational trips.
Each camp will participate in a selection of field trips. Some of the field trips include:

CAMP ACTIVITY CALENDARS
The June Camp Activity Calendars for each camp site will be available in June at the BRPD Main Office.

WEEKLY CAMP FEES
Day Campers must pay at least one week to secure a space. Weekly payments are due before a child can attend camp. Payments are due by 4:00 pm on the Friday before the week a child attends. If paying after this time, a hard copy of the receipt must be presented at the sign in table the week of attendance.

DAY CAMP REFUND POLICY
A full refund will be made to any camper before June 8, 2018. If a camper must withdraw from program during the first week of camp, a 50% refund will be available. After this time, no refunds will be made. In the event of a suspension, refunds will not be given. Refunds may take up to 2-4 weeks to process and will be sent via check to the address on the child's registration form. Payments made with a check may take longer to process. All refund requests must be submitted in writing in advance to the Burlington Recreation & Parks Main Office.
Camp week transfers may be moved to another week with advance notice. Once the week begins camp week transfers cannot be made. Unused days cannot be transferred to another week. Camp payments cannot be transferred to other Burlington Recreation & Parks programs. No refund will be issued for non-attendance or non-participation in summer camps.
