Unsolved Homicides

The Burlington Police Department is seeking the public's help in the following cases. The investigations are ongoing, but, due to a lack of suspect(s) or new lead(s), the department is reaching out to the community to ask them to come forward with any information they may have in regards to these investigations. Colton Kyle Murray Homicide Investigation Update(s):

  • Through further investigation, officers were able to develop probable cause to arrest Devonta Hinton (black male, DOB: 1/16/1997, Graham), Donte Malik Harbour (black male, DOB: 5/7/1995, Burlington), and Kaleb Jeremiah Freeland (black male, DOB: 7/6/1999, Burlington) for 1st degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon. All three individuals were taken into custody on December 7, 2018 without incident and are in the Alamance County Jail under no bond.
  • As a result of the ongoing investigation into the Colton Kyle Murray homicide, probable cause was developed to arrest Joselyn Elizabeth Carden (white female, DOB: 2/14/1998, Burlington) and Jacqueline McCall Frost (white female, DOB: 1/16/1996, Durham). The two females were taken into custody without incident on November 28, 2018. Both were transported to the Sampson County Jail and received $50,000 unsecured bonds.
