Park & Play - Mobile Recreation

Park & Play, a mobile recreation program, will be rolling to 8 neighborhood sites this summer! Under normal circumstances the Park & Play promotes active outdoor play with Rec & Park staff delivering free, engaging games, activities, sports, crafts and fun!

In light of COVID-19 and to keep our participants and staff safe and healhty, programming will look a bit different for summer 2020!  Instead of parking and playing for 1.5 hours. The Park & Play van and staff will visit each site for 30 minutes and pass out free "Snack and Activity To-Go Kits" for kids 12 and under. The kits will be themed each week and have various activities and crafts as well as a snack to help kids stay engaged throughout the summer.

The Park & Play van and staff will be making delivers once a week to each site starting July 7th and ending on August 6th. Kits available while supplies last at each site.

Theme Weeks:
  • July 7-9: Superheroes
  • July 14-16: Beach Week
  • July 21-23: Amazing Animals
  • July 28-30: All About Nature
  • August 4-6: Back 2 School

The Park & Play program helps to provide better access to recreation programming where location, transportation and cost could be barriers to participation. The Park & Play program is made possible through a generous grant from Impact Alamance.

In addition to rolling into neighborhoods all summer to promote play, you might also catch the Park & Play at some B-Town Events or popping up at a playground or park near you!

Currently, the Park & Play is not available for community events. It is reserved for Burlington Recreation & Parks sponsored events and our program partner, Graham Recreation & Parks.
