Please call the Fire Prevention office before obtaining a permit. There are certain specifications that need to be met before a permit can be issued.
**Open Burning Permits are not issued for locations in the City of Burlington to remove yard waste. The city provides pick-up service for shrubbery, leaves, and other forms of yard waste. Please check with sanitation for the days they collect in your area. The North Carolina Forest Service website also has an online burn permit. That permit is NOT VALID inside the city limits.
