Glencoe Mill Village Historic District

On October 5, 1999, the Glencoe Mill Village local historic district was created by the Burlington City Council. The district is the second local district in the City of Burlington's jurisdiction. Glencoe was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 and had been an Alamance County historic landmark since 1997.

This project has been a cooperative effort between Preservation North Carolina (PNC), a non-profit redevelopment organization devoted to historic preservation; the County of Alamance; and the City of Burlington.  PNC purchased the property in 1997 with a generous gift from Ms. Sarah Rhyne, a part-interest owner of the property and local citizen.
